Resources Used for Planning Table Worksheets, Brain Pop Site, Interactive Board. Learning Objective Student will understand how to read write and evaluate expression. Assessment/Progress Monitoring We will have a Table worksheet for explaining on how to write exponents for our first assessment 2nd assessment will evaluate expression and exponents on the white board 4 teams of 4 students Differentiation Students will have a visual worksheet to work using tables. Each column has a specific section on how to write and evaluate exponents. Accommodation- Have Sped student work on the iPad using specific activities assigned. Materials White Board, Voice Threads, Video Gain Students Attention/Focusing Activity Today we work in teams to help each with the lesson for today. Also we will learn how to evaluate and write exponents in standard form.

Conducting the Lesson Objective of today is to make sure students evaluate expression and exponents

Instruction: Modeling (I Do It) Students will listen to the lecture from the teacher during the lecture a short video clip will be played. Small activities will also be included in the PowerPoint presented. Guided Practice (We Do It) Together we will go over the table chart. Giving them examples on how to write and solve. Independent practice (You Do It) - Do your other 5 tables at your desk alone and after your finish we will get grouped up to play a game to assess Closing the Lesson Show students a Voice Threads the importance of exponents and how exponents relate to everyday life Review/Summary Today we talked about 2 different standards that relate to each in the same way. Some exponents on your assessment will have variables so you can figure out what number is missing Preview Future Content Tomorrow we do more review on Exponents and also using different letters to represent numbers in an expression
