The maximum length of an EMS is 25.25 m. Research conducted by the Dutch Ministry of Transport shows that motorists dont even notice the difference between an EMS and a regular truck combination.
MYTH
EMS weighs up to 90 ton

The maximum weight is limited to 60 ton. In Germany it is even limited to 40 ton.

An EMS is only allowed on motorways, main roads and industrial areas, never in urban areas, villages, 30 km zones, near schools etc. A special permit from road authorities is generally required.

It is not Brussels but EU member states which decide on the use of an EMS on their territory. Cross border transport is only allowed between countries which agree upon the use of an EMS.
EMS is already a success in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands and Germany.
