LINE OUT OF BUILDING:-

Following are the step for building line out:

1. Carefully Study the building drawings and take extra care for column
orientation and the different column dimension in the cross section.
2. After that calculate the centre to centre distance between column (for
wall also in wall load bearing system).
Example: if column cross section is 230mm x 450mm
While calculating centre to centre distance in 230mm
direction take half 230mm on both side where as in the
450mm direction, take half of 450mm on the both side.
Take extra care of some the column whose centre line is not lies
in the centre line other normal columns means in row the some column
may have different orientation. As show below

3. In field first fix up the longest and fixed side of building if possible.
Otherwise fix up any fixed side. Then fix up the outer most centre line
of building by setting perpendiculars tri-square or by 3,4,5 method.
4. After fixing the arrows at four corner check up the diagonal distance
for both triangles. Keep in mind that while measuring any dimensions,
steel tape must be used and both end of the tape should be in same
level for accuracy.
5. Now fix up the arrows at 2.00m from perpendicular centre line and in
Line with other centre line. Similarly two arrows are to be inserted at
each corner for whole building.
6. Stretch out the plastic string along the fixed centre lines and tie at
reference arrows at 2.00m. Strings crossing at corner of building
should be made at same level by level tube. Make assure the string
must not touch objects like soil columns etc.,.
7. Now check up the diagonals and if not correct adjust arrows and make
Diagonal correct.
8. And mark out the other inner centre line and check up dimension as
wall as diagonals and similarly fix up reference arrows at 2.00m.
9. Construct brick pillar at all reference arrows so that their top level is
at same level and mark the centre of arrow on pillar top. For more
convenience for future, mark the pedestal, column starter, wall
Markings.
10. Footing markings are given by taking parallel line from reference for
excavation.

CENTRE MARKING FOR COLUMNS AFTER EXCAVATION:

1. Stretch out string along the markings on pillars and Cross check
diagonals.
2. Drop plumb bob on both side of crossing of strings in each string
and keeping string align these marking and it will form plus marking
at centre of column and check plus mark for perpendicular by
tri-square.
