For me, one of the great joys of this annual Event is the sense of a gathering of the coee world for a family reunion of sorts, says Ric Rhinehart, the executive director of SCAA. Of course, no family reunion would be complete without lots of social activities and a chance for generations to touch base with each other. Cindy Cohn, senior director of events for SCAA, says, Were proud of the signicance our annual show holds in the realm of specialty coee, and in The Events growth over the past 26 years. I think those that have attended would agree that The Event remains the industry standard for networking and a mustsee, must-experience extravaganza for everything coee. Its educational, interactive, innovative and inspirational, and often the highlight of a coee professionals year.
This weeks Event gathers an estimated 10,000 guests from more than 75 countries, making it the worlds largest gathering of coee professionals and enthusiasts.

The goal is to increase the volume of quality coee in Peru. The rst project will be a Multilocation Variety Trial, where WCR will import 30 of the worlds best-performing Arabica varieties, possessing high quality attributes and rust resistance, into Peru. These varieties will be transplanted as part of an experiment in three or four dierent locations within Peru. According to Timothy Schilling, executive director of World Coee Research, the hope is to nd a few varieties that outperform whats currently being grown in Peru, and then work with the Peruvian Ministry to propagate them and get them in the hands of the producers. WCR is the non-prot, collaborative research and development program of the global coee industry, and is managed by the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture at Texas A&M. The Ministry of Agriculture is an institution of the Peruvian Government in charge of the agricultural sector.

As an international benchmark for the coee world, Host 2015 will be staged at Fieramilano in Rho, Italy from Friday, Oct. 23 to Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.
