Lends Support to New World Symphony

Bacardi U.S.A., Inc., the U.S. sales and marketing arm of Bacardi Limited, a family owned company, is beneficiary to a rich heritage of corporate philanthropy that began in the companys early days in Santiago de Cuba. Family-owned since it got its start in Cuba, the company reaches out to a variety of nonprofit groups to fund artistic and cultural development. The United States-based offie of Bacardi now maintains its Americas headquarters in Coral Gables, Florida, and recently contributed to a leading musical organization in its community.

The company donated its products to the celebration of the New World Symphonys grand opening gala, which marked the completion of a new building designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry. Located in the cultural heart of Miami Beach, the New World Center strives to serve as a living laboratory to influence the way musicians compose and perform and the way audiences listen. As such, it fosters the New World Symphonys mission of enhancing the professional and personal growth of top graduates of musical study programs.

Under the direction of conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, the New World Symphony has, since 1987, prepared rising generations of instrumentalists for positions with leading orchestras and ensemble groups around the globe. Its concerts have aired on PBS, Univision, and London Weekend Television.
