Meredith Cohen, Department of Art History, UCLA Saint Louis and the Construction of Sacral Kingship in Thirteenth-Century France.

This paper will examine the representation of sacral kingship in the architecture of Louis IX, specifically showing how the Sainte-Chapelle and Louis later projects in Paris transformed visual politics and contributed to his own canonization.
