THE OG OF KEARNY

Effects of Global Climate Changes

POSITIVE FEEDBACKS OCCURING WHEN CLIMATE

CHANGES
As the temperature increase, then the air would become warmer. Warm air will cause more evaporation, and clouds will not form as much, instead it will remain as water vapor. Water vapor is a greenhouse gas. When there are more water

vapor, then this progress

continues because when there is water vapor, the air is warm.

TEMPERATURE CHANGES

As the year increases, the temperature of the world also increases. From around 1935 to 2014, the temperature went up around 1.45 oF.

Predications have been

made that the temperature will continue to rise.

CHANGES IN PRECIPITATION

Some places in the United States is affected by the increase in precipitation, but others are the opposite. However, when the average of the worlds precipitation was calculated, the outcome was that it did had some periods of increasing precipitation, but it also had some period of decreasing precipitation.

SEA LEVEL CHANGES

In most of the coasts in United States, the sea level rises. It occurs more on the west coast of the United States.

CHANGES IN GLOBAL ICE

From 1899 to 2003, the Alaska Range: Muir Glacier have become nothing, but water. This area used to be filled with glaciers, but as the years advances, and the temperature rising, all the ice in this area have reduced to it liquid form. This is not the only place that loss all of its ice, but other parts of the world is also having the same thing happening.

CHANGES IN BIOTA

When the temperature rises, the maximum latewood density decreases. The ring width also decreases. This means that temperature does affects tree growth. Tree growth and temperature was consistent with each other until around the year 1960, those two trends started to be the opposite.

PROXY INDICATORS

Trees can be used as proxy indicators. People would look at the rings of trees to see how the temperature in

that year affected its

growth. Glaciers can also be used.
