Unit Summary: Change, transition, and transformation are all natural parts of life. They can be difficult to understand and/or cope with. Never the less, they are necessary steps that everyone must take as they add their chapter to the story of Humanity. As Alice travels throughout Wonderland, she also begins her journey from childhood into adulthood. During this time, Alice struggles with (among other things) many aspects of who she is. As 7th graders, you are literally in the middle of middle school and soon you will be on your way to high school, then college. Like Alice, you too may have some difficulty with this, or similar issues, and together it may be possible for you to discover your own identity and prepare yourself to enter into adulthood without losing too much of your childhood in the process. In this unit we will explore Wonderland alongside Alice and we will apply what WE find there to our own lives.
