Stansbury Elementary School

3050 South 2700 West West Valley, Utah 84119-2928

March 25, 2014 To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Mallorie Green. Mallorie just completed her student teaching here at Stansbury Elementary. She served as a first grade teacher. The University of Utah has a remarkable pre-service program for potential teachers. Mallorie did an excellent job in her assignment. Her students adored her and the patrons appreciated her commitment to their children. Mallorie consistently put in extra hours so she could be well prepared with wonderful and exciting lessons for her students. Mallorie worked at our school from August 19, 2013 to March 28, 2014. She took full responsibilities for the class in January of this year. She has done lesson preparation, grading, grouping, and parent-teacher conferences. She has a great attitude and strong work ethic making her a valuable team member. Mallories cooperating teacher was Debbie Worthington. Debbie is an experience veteran and one of the best teachers in the school. Mallorie took this opportunity to learn Mrs. Worthingtons strengths and she incorporated many of her best ideas into her excellent teaching style. Mallorie worked very hard to learn the new common core curriculum and the associated learning tools provided by the school and district. At Stansbury Elementary, Mallorie has had the opportunity to use her skills with English Language Learners as well as students coming from homes living in poverty. This school has over 90% of our students on free or reduced lunch and over 75% of our students have English as their second language. Mallorie has thrived in this environment working successfully with students with great diversity and many special needs. She has helped them to increase their self-esteem and achieve academic success at their level of learning. It takes a very capable teacher to be able to work well in a very challenging Title I school environment like we have at Stansbury. Mallorie showed that capability. I am confident she will be a great addition to any staff. We will definitely interview Mallorie for any open positions on our staff. Please call me if you have any questions. Sincerely,
