Carpenter was arrested at 4:44 am. Just prior to this arrest,

officers were on Gardner Lane dealing with an unconscious male
(unrelated to this arrest).
While there, the officers were told by a passer-by of a fight at
the intersection of Caroline and Putnam Street. Officers moved
down Gardner Lane to where they could see the intersection and
observed a small group of individuals assaulting (repeatedly
kicking and punching) a male who was on the ground. Just after
being observed by the officers, the assailants took off running
from the scene.
Carpenter, who was one of assailants, was apprehended. The others
were not apprehended. The victim was transported to Saratoga
Hospital by Saratoga Springs FD. The full extent of his injuries
are not known.
Carpenter was arraigned and committed to Saratoga Co. Jail. The
case is still under investigation.
