Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection InTASC/NAEYC Standard: Standard #10: Leadership and Collaboration The teacher seeks

appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility for student learning, to collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession. Brief Description of Evidence: Summer 2013 I spent nine weeks in the summer of 2013 as a camp counselor at Camp Crosely. During this time I was responsible for girls in my cabin, students in arts and crafts class, and all the kids I came in contact with. While being a counselor I met many families and kids who looked at me as a leader and professional. Analysis of What I Learned: While being at Camp Crosley I learned how to take a leadership role for student learning by becoming the lead arts and crafts teacher. I also learned the collaboration differences between certain age groups of children, parents, and colleagues. How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTAS Standard: Spending my summer at Camp Crosely was life changing. This opportunity gave me the chance to connect with potential employers, collaborate with families, and work with people from around the world. I took the responsibility of being a leader and a mentor to some really great kids. Throughout my time at Crosley I found ways to take responsibility for student learning and giving them chance to express themselves through art. I believe I have advanced in the profession because staff at Camp Crosely keeps asking me to come back to work on the weekends. I have worked with Camp Crosley in Chicago in order to bring that community together and advance in the growth of student learning while being at Camp Crosley.
