Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection InTASC Standard: Standard #8: Instructional Strategies The teacher understands and

uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways. Brief Description of Evidence: I created a lesson plan that encourages learners to develop a deeper understanding about our solar system. In this lesson plan, students will be reading a book, watching a video, acting, and using manipulatives to create our solar system. Analysis of What I Learned: I have learned students need a variety of instructional strategies in order to learn and apply what they have learned. Not all children learn through the same strategies or at the same pace. My lesson plan I incorporates a variety of strategies to help the students understand the content at a deeper level. How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC Standard: This lesson shows my competence and understanding of students and the way in which they learn. I have my lesson plan designed so students are offered a variety of ways to learn. The students are receiving visual, audio, and kinesthetic learning.
