Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection InTASC Standard: Standard 1: Learner Development The teacher understands how learners

grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences. Brief Description of Evidence: I created an autobiographical sketch of my development as a child. Not only did I reflect my childhood and connected it to Erik Eriksons stages of psychosocial development, but I also predicted what my future holds based on how I came out of the pervious stages. In my autobiographical sketch, I explained each stage of development, then gave my own experience in the particular stage. Analysis of What I Learned: After finishing my autobiographical sketch project, I realized children actually do have certain stages they go through in life. Depending on how the children come out of a certain stage will set the platform for how they face and conquer challenges later in life. Personally I came to realize myself and my life a lot better. I now understand why I think, believe, and trust the way I do today. How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC Standard: By reflecting on my own life, I understand that learners grow and develop based on life experiences their caregivers give them. I now can understand how a students development varies individual across cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas of development.
