Accountability and solidarity: Will you stand with me?

Pala Molisa

To be Accountable to Someone Is in an important sense To stand In Solidarity With Someone To love someone Is in an important sense To Truly recognize Their needs But when I rise up, will you stand with me? When I rise gainst my masters, will you ght with me? When I fall from my struggles, will you cry for me? When I throw off the yoke of bondage, will you support me? Will you recognize my right to self-determination? When I say no to my masters, will you side with me? When I die from your masters, will you cry for me? When I bleed for your clothes, will you see my stains? When I smile behind the counter, will you see my chains? When I pick your bananas, will you see my pain? When I plant your coffee, will you see your leaders cane? When I break down the gates of rms to feed my hungry family, Will you still stand by my side? When I reclaim my stolen land Will you recognize my silenced history? When I arm myself against police brutality Will you defend my human right of self-defence? When In other words Will you be accountable to me?
