Motif Mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Semarang dalam Berperan Aktif pada Kegiatan Ilmiah Mahasiswa

Pandiya Politeknik Negeri Semarang Abstract: In general this research aimed at identifying the Semarang State Polytechnic Students motives in joining the scientific program in local, regional, and or national scale. This then is also followed by any other study of scientific program, such as scientific research, scientific research contest, scientific program on education, field study/visiting program, constraints, some alternative solutions, and students favoritism rank. The results showed that seminar is the most favorite scientific program and congress is the least favorite one. For kinds of research, the results are that naturalism research is more favorite than scientific research. The scientific research contests showed that PIMNAS is the most favorite one and red cross affairs is the least favorite one. The scientific program on education showed that short course is the most favorite program and specific training program is the least favorite one. The field study program/visiting program showed that visiting abroad is more favorite than visiting homeland country. The students motives in joining scientific program showed that fulfilling materials, making prospective life and future insurance, fulfilling social needs, fulfilling appreciation needs, realizing self actualization, affiliation motives, and prestige achievement motives are mostly agreed whereas power motives are disagreed. The constraint aspects showed that lacks media (instruments) is the most constraint and license process is the least one. The last is the alternative solutions, the good managing time is the most favorite solution and cooperation with departments/ lecturers is the least favorite one.
