What should we expect to see from your classwork and portfolio by the end of the semester? I plan to continue to develop my portfolio and have quality classwork by the end of the semester. I have turned the corner in the subject and started to gain interest in the topic I am doing my inquiry on. I expect to have a quality research paper by the end of this semester.

I have learned about the different perspectives, concepts, and definitions you can draw from one simple word. Best: The reiteration of the different ideas, and the big class discussions that help us dig through the topic at hand. Change: Maybe how we have talked about the same topic since day one, I would like a little bit of diversity with the discussion topic. (monsters) Concerns: Losing interest in this subject. My inquiry is about how monsters are like bullies. Its going well but my concerns are finding enough useful information about the topic, I feel like it is too general. I would like to change how we interact. If we worked more as a team we would get more done. I think our best qualities would be how we have had experiences that aid us in doing the inquiry project.

Its definitely okay to narrow it down; there are many different kinds of bullying you could look at specifically.

I feel the class discussions are high quality and a lot of students voice some interesting key points. I think I have added some different perspectives in past discussions due to my past life experiences that are very different than most. It has pictures of me and UNCC and it has a little blurb about the purpose. It has the interviews up as well as the feedback and response from the dialogic journals we have done. I do like your drawings, although I am a bit unclear about how your drawings connect to your essay. Your second draft of the essay is much more specific and engaging than the first draft, though I am not sure what the real subject of the essay is, simply because it is

My portfolio will continue to develop and by the end of the semester it will be complete to show the work I have done and my growth in the class. I have the link embedded now and in a button so it looks nicer. I also added the interviews.

I feel pretty good about it. I did a drawing that I believe is a good representation of the monster topic. My portfolio includes my first draft and my final, as well as my drafts of my drawings. I included pictures of my journal entries. It keeps track of how my opinions have progressed and how the discussions have gone in class. It shows how I think about the ongoing discussions as well.

My drawings connect to the essay because they represent the monster hiding from something on the outside. The human is hiding from the monster and vice versa. Yet they are both behind the same wall, in the same place. My essay was to depict how monsters can come in any form, whether its something that you cant physically see with the naked eye like cancer,

You can also connect your essay to our class discussions and readings, especially the Seven Theses. I think that this reflection may solve some of the concerns I have about your piece overall by making connections to your drawing you might consider another final draft though.
