Art and Community Initiatives Outdoor Learning Space Project Waitsfield School, 2014 I worked with Kaiya Korb, Yestermorrow Design and Build School and various community members to coordinate a school-wide initiative to design and create an outdoor learning space. Gifts from the heART After School Club 2013 I worked with students to paint wooden bowls and create various crafts. We put together a gift bowl raffle with donations from local businesses to raise money for Vermont Foodbank. Bridge Street Art Fair 2013, 2014 I conceived of and organized a one day community art fair in Waitsfield with a multi-school student art show, professional craft fair, art activities and demonstrations and live music and entertainment. I wrote and received a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation to support this event. Empty Bowls Project Fayston School, 2012 and Waitsfield School 2010 I worked with potter Leslie Montalto to have each student K-6 make one or two bowls and experience using a pottery wheel. I coordinated across-discipline studies of different topics around hunger and nutrition. I organized a final meal to raise money for Vermont Foodbank. I wrote and received a grant for this project from the Vermont Principals Association in 2012. Art Auction for Haiti 2010 In the wake of the earthquake in Haiti, I organized an art auction at the Big Picture Theater to raise money for Amurtel, a relief organization. Student and professional artists donated artwork for the auction. Art in the Garden Recipe Collection Waitsfield School, 2009 I created a compilation of student artwork, photography and recipes with a garden theme. We sold this recipe book to raise money for our school garden. Family Clay Club and After School Clay Clubs Fayston School, 2009-2012
