hy look to medieval Europe for classical education when the pinnacle of classical education was reached in our own nation with a Biblical and governmental mission two centuries ago? The definition of classic refers to the Greek and Roman authors and to writers of the first rank among the moderns. It is defined as being of the first order, constituting the best model or authority, and pure, chaste, correct, refined. Surely the Bible is the first and authoritative classic. Biblical-Classical diverges from the European classical model at the Reformation to flower fully in its American colonial and governmental expression. Biblical-classical education identifies its source primarily in the Hebrew concepts of knowledge and attitudes toward life in contrast to the Greek and Roman concepts of knowledge and attitudes toward life.
