I have served as her student teaching supervisor for Drake University during the Spring 2014 term. Grace was also enrolled in the course Classroom Management that I taught during J-Term in January 2014. Grace is very serious about becoming an excellent teacher. Her conduct is consistently professional in interactions with students and staff members of the schools in which she student teaches. She eagerly becomes involved in classroom activities and is quick to learn the names of all her students. Ms. Manz prepares lessons that are effectively appropriate for the age of students she is working with. She is thorough in her planning and preparation for class by having materials that are needed for each lesson readily available. Her demeanor with students is kind, yet firm in her expectations for the work her students are expected to do during class. For many student teachers, classroom management is difficult. Grace has worked very hard with some students who are challenging and dont always follow classroom rules. Through her persistence, she is able to redirect students in such a manner that the assignments are completed and, over time, the students have developed respect for her as their teacher. I highly recommend Grace Manz for any teaching position for which she is certified. I believe she will continue to grow as a teacher and will be an asset to the school in which she teaches.
