Our teams goal is to achieve an A on our workshop, Curriculum Design and Development: Backward Design and Constructivist Learning Theory. Other outcomes include: 1. To provide a positive and effective learning experience for participants. 2. To create a safe learning environment for participants. 3. To achieve the attitudes, skill and knowledge outcomes outlined in our workshop. Learning Styles 1. Jasmine is an Activist and Pragmatist. 2. Ramona is a Theorist and Reflector. 3. Ahmed is a Pragmatist and Reflector. This diversity in learning style characteristics enhances the collaboration process, as each team member presents a different perspective and approach to this project. Together, we are committed to collaboration, open-mindedness and understanding. We are an experienced and knowledgeable team with a diverse skill set. Our broad set of strengths support each others areas of weakness. Team Dynamics Team Leader: Jasmine has been appointed the role of team leader. She has taken an active role in initiating tasks and putting forward ideas. Jasmine is responsible for facilitating collaboration and cohesion amongst the group, in addition to being accountable for guiding the group toward achieving team objectives.

Chair for Meetings: Ramona has been appointed meeting chair. She has shown initiative in directing meetings and keeping the team focused. Ramona will be responsible for setting the agenda for each meeting, which will continue to keep the team focused on project tasks. Minute Taker: Ahmed has been appointed the role of minute taker. He has been helpful in summarizing team meetings and next steps. Ahmed will document both the minutes and action items to help keep the team on track to meet the scheduled deadlines. Logistics Jasmine will be responsible for coordinating the time, location and length of team meetings. She will ensure meeting rooms are booked and equipped with Internet access to enable Ahmed to Skype in. Meeting time, location and length: Since Ahmed lives in Saudi Arabia, Ramona and Jasmine will meet in person, at locations that are mutually convenient. Ahmed will attend the meetings through Skype. Meetings are expected to last 1-3 hours in order to maximize opportunities for collaboration. Communication methods: Considering the distance between each team member, including Ramona and Jasmine who live on opposite ends of the city, the team must rely on alternative methods of communication, such as phone, email and Skype, in addition to meeting in person. File Sharing and Storage Files will be kept on Google Drive, an Internet based storage service that will allow each team member access to all project documents. With Google Drive, team members will have the ability to edit, revise and share other helpful documents. TEAM CHARTER Decisions will be made as a team. Poor team member performance: In response to poor team member performance, the team will refer back to the team charter. We will review the team objectives and responsibilities to help the team refocus on our common goal. We will also revisit the teams listed strengths, weaknesses and learning styles to help each team member gain a better understanding of each other. Conflict resolution: The process outlined above will be followed. The Project Project title: Curriculum Design and Development: Backward Design and Constructivist Learning Theory Project objectives: After participating in this workshop, learners will be able to Knowledge Describe 3 key steps in curriculum design. Discuss how constructivism can be integrated into 3 key steps of curriculum design and development. Skills Recognize practical applications of backwards design and constructivism. Attitudes Respect the ideas, opinions and questions of others. Project outcomes: Our curriculum design workshop will provide a 4-hour experiential learning opportunity that facilitates both the knowledge and practice of the Backward Design model of curriculum design, which will be grounded in the Constructivist learning theory. The workshop will combine a range of learning strategies, such as mini lectures, small group discussions and critical reflection. Timetable Usual team member availability:

Jasmine and Ramona are available on Mondays and will aim to meet in person. Jasmine and Ahmed will meet via Skype on weekly bases on Sundays. Other commitments of team members: Jasmine full-time employment, other course work, vacation, volunteer work Ramona - full-time employment, other course work, vacation, childcare Ahmed - full-time employment, other course work, vacation, childcare Conflicting deadlines: Ramona will be on vacation from December 25th to January 4th. Jasmine will be on vacation from December 22nd to January 4th. Meeting times: All members will meet weekly, either in person, by phone, email or via Skype. Jasmine and Ramona are available on Mondays and will aim to meet in person. Jasmine and Ahmed will meet via Skype on weekly bases on Sundays.
