STUDENT TEACHER, SIERRA VERDE 1st Grade, Shannon Frackiewicz- DVUSD Teacher of the Year Nominee August 2013-Ocotober 2013; January 2014- May 2014 Constructed and instructed College and Career Ready lessons for reading, writing, math, science, and social studies areas. Implemented an instructional, research-based strategy to improve reading fluency (thesis). Avid volunteer of Books With Friends reading club; inspiring students to expand their knowledge and imagination through the excitement of reading. Participation extends to Primary Builders Club, where students use Lego manipulatives to create, contrive, and produce physical structures with an emphasis in engineering. ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY 2013-2014 Earning a Masters degree in Elementary Education in May 2014. Graduating with honors from Kappa Delta Pi, an international honors society in education, with a 4.0 GPA. Graduate of Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College as an integral part of Deer Valleys acclaimed iTeachAZ program. UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON 2011-2012 Earned a Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Visual Arts degree with an emphasis in photography and graphic design. Graduated in 2012. PIERCE COMMUNITY COLLEGE 2009-2010 Earned Associates of Arts degree. Graduated in 2010 with honors from Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.
