Background
He was born into a Samurai family. His father enrolled him in the military academy and the Army Staff College. Graduated with honors in 1914 In 1929 Tojo had also become commander of the prestigious first infantry regiment.

How he came to power

His amazing abilities as a staff led to a quick promotion. served as a chief of police affairs of Kwantung army, he became their chief of staff in 1937. He was made vice minister of war in may 1938 and director of military aircrafts in december. He took over after Meiji which industrialized and westernized Japan.

How He Maintained Power

He was a cruel ruler. He took over the army to get full control of the army. He was a virtual dictator and then promised a new order in Asia.

Hideki's Domestic policies were to always have harsh, stubborn, and strict personality. He also committed horribly cruel actions towards the chinese.

How Tojo was removed from power

Tojo authorized the navy to attack U.S military installations in Pearl Harbor, the Philippines Rest of the war proved anticlimactic as Tojo maintain a low profile until the Japanese surrender in September 1945
