Las Vidas de Las Famosas (The Lives of the Famous): The world is always focused on the lives of the rich and famous. For another segment of your broadcast, describe the happenings of 5 famous Hispanic people (2 of them must be from your assigned country). These do not need to be people you have heard of before. Each country has its own celebrities, politicians, sports figures, entertainers, and intellectuals. Describe the person (is he/she a musician? actress? comedian? president? etc.), say where he/she is from, tell about his/her likes/dislikes (use gustar), or if its a sports figure, tell what sport he/she plays (use jugar). Dont forget to include a Las Famosas section in your PowerPoint. It must include pictures of your famous people. Use only Spanish for the Las Famosas section of your PowerPoint. Use http://www.peopleenespanol.com/ to help you find information about Hispanic celebrities. You can also look through the People en Espaol magazines on our shelf. Las Noticias (Headlines): The final required segment of your broadcast is to report on 2-3 current stories (each group member does one) from your assigned country (within the last year). This is the only segment that may be done in English. All you need to include on the PowerPoint is the headline and a picture. However, you must also be able to give a brief summary of each news story (in 4-5 sentences). These paragraphs should be typed out in your own words and handed in after you give your presentation. If you copy your paragraph instead of putting it in your own words, you will receive a zero. At the bottom of your paragraph, you must copy and paste the link from the news story so I know what your source is. You cannot receive credit for your paragraph without this link. Use the following sites to help you find interesting headlines: Time Latin America: http://world.time.com/category/latin-america/ BBC Latin America: http://www.bbc.com/news/world/latin_america/
Make sure you use a credible source. You cannot use Wikipedia for this segment. If you are not sure if your source is credible, you are responsible for getting approval from me before going any further. Stories are Individual Grades S 5 points Headline and Picture 4-5 Sentences in your own words explaining the news story TOTAL WORKS CITED PAGE: You must include a Works Cited page at the end of your PowerPoint. This simply means that you must copy and paste all links for articles, pictures, etc. into the Works Cited page. Any website you take information from must show up on this page. This is worth 5 points. EXTRA CREDIT: You have the potential to earn extra credit if you choose to go above and beyond with your presentation. This could include dressing up on the day of the presentation, adding more details to your presentation than are required (must be obviously above and beyond), making introductions or transitioning between segments in Spanish, etc. Please write anything you are asking to receive extra credit for below: Parcialmente 1-4 points No 0 points

REMEMBER: You must use the vocabulary that we have been learning! Using a translating program will result in a loss of points because I may not know what you are saying and your classmates will not understand you at all.
