Causes of Childhood Obesity: - contradictory parents (poor modelling) - parents controlling children instead of teaching them - lack of home-cooked meals Sugars vs. Fats - which one is a greater cause of the obesity epidemic? - are all fats bad? - artificial sweeteners (aspartame, Splenda, etc.) - highly processed foods, preservatives Meats = Animal Products (pork, beef, chicken, etc.)

The Effects of Childhood Eating Patterns

It is essential to develop healthy eating habits at a young age in order to achieve optimum health as an adult (Food For Today, 27).

Adult Modelling: parents must practice what they preach. Adult Control: parents must teach children healthy eating practices, rather than trying to completely control what they eat.
