March 4, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, I am pleased to recommend Bonnie Wheatley Maddox for a teaching position at your school.

Mrs. Maddox completed her full time student teaching placement in my fourth grade classroom from January to March 2014. During this time Mrs. Maddox taught all elementary subjects to a diverse group of twenty-eight fourth graders including gifted students and ESL students. Mrs. Maddox works diligently to prepare all lessons well in advance. She arrives to school early and stays late to finish grading and lesson plans. She exceeds expectations for effort from a student teacher. Mrs. Maddox is a team player who is always willing to help other teachers on the grade level. She is pleasant, helpful and positive at all times with both staff and students. She enjoys sharing her love of learning with students, and this joy was contagious to my fourth graders. She created a variety of Fun Facts displays for each table group which related to all the units of study in the classroom. Mrs. Maddox accepted suggestions for growth and immediately implemented new ideas to improve her instruction and classroom management. While instructing the students in math standards on fractions, she designed her own creative Fractions in Action interactive bulletin board for students to connect new learning to fractions they see every day. The students responded well to her positive classroom management style. Mrs. Maddox easily implemented technology in all her lessons. She used a document camera for students to share their work, digital projector, I Pad, Interwrite Pad, and PowerPoint, for example. She facilitated student use of computers during their Civil War biography research project and students completing lessons on A+ Learning Link for intervention.
