EDU3104 Task 1 140107

My favourite teacher was Puan Fauziah, who taught us Prinsip Perakaunan back when I was in Form 5. She is a petite, warm lady who smiles all the time. This subject, for me personally, was one of the hardest subjects which often stress me out during my SPM days. However, with Puan Fauziah, I end up loving the subject more than ever.

I always look forward for her classes. She works hard to make sure we understand whatever that she is teaching that day. She would approach each group and ask if there was any problem or confusion going on. Puan Fauziah would always be ready to answer our questions, and to demonstrate the correct method of getting the answers. She also makes sure to try and go through all of our answers before leaving the class.

Before starting the lesson, Puan Fauziah often makes sure we are seating comfortably, the class has been swept clean, and that we have enough template papers for the subject (ledgers etc.) She wouldnt start the class unless we are all ready and focused on her. I prefer this approach because there will be less disturbance during class when everyone are ready to start learning.

One main reason which makes me admire her so much is her willingness to help us to learn. Accounting is my weakest subject during Form 5. As SPM is getting near, I personally came up to her, and asked if she could stay after the school hours to have some extra classes for my friends and I who needed extra guidance from her. To my relief, she did not hesitate at all, and agrees to it immediately. She even brought a lot of worksheets, and past year questions to help us be familiar with the subject. Puan Fauziah also helped me by teaching the tricks in understanding the underlying meaning of the exam questions so I did not answer it wrongly. Because of her never ending effort in teaching us, most of us excelled in the subject for SPM.

In a way, Puan Fauziah inspires me a lot. When I imagine myself in years to come after graduation, I often see myself as a teacher who would always help her students, without fail, but with passion and love for them. I imagine myself to be as how Puan Fauziah was to us when we were students. I too, want to be able to help my students whenever they need me. I too, want to help my students excel in their studies. And I will be working hard to prepare myself and to be a good, excellent teacher one day.
