The phrase was significantly challenged in 40s of previous century and the feminist movement of 60s pronounced personal is political. However, the phenomenon appears to be an eternal epithet to women since we follow the history of civilization. Since the age of epic of Mahabharata to the contemporary events, things have not changed significantly enough so far as womens question of equal rights, respect and honour are concerned. Deconstructing the episodes of Mahabarata womens journey along with contemporary factual incidents not only incites aesthetic challenges but also about exploring the sub-textual eternity of the hegemonic pattern of patriarchy and more importantly power. Instead of looking at the issues vehemently from a feminist paradigm, the proposed work is more of an attempt of decoding the hegemonic codes against impending subalternity. Hence, the work also offers propensity towards exhibiting redefined performance codes.
