NORTH NIMISHILLEN KINDERGARTEN BLIZZARD BAG ACTIVITIES

For each snow day that is a Blizzard Bag day, your child will need to pick one activity from each category. If there are multiple Blizzard Bag days, then one more activity from each category will need to be completed.

Language Arts
1. Read a story. Draw a picture about the story. Write a sentence about the story.

Math
1. Count and write the numbers 0 to 75.

Science
1. Go outside and get a cup full of snow. Bring it inside and set it on a table. Watch what happens to the snow. How long did it take the snow to melt? 2. Record the temperature in the morning. In the afternoon and in the evening. Read the temperature numbers. Circle the biggest number. Put a square around the smallest number. 3. Get an old Kleenex box, toilet paper roll, or anything you were planning on throwing away and make something out of it!

Social Studies
1. Make a timeline of your day. List or draw 5 things you did in the order you did them during the day.

2. Choose three of your vocabulary sight word and write a sentence for each word.

2. On a piece of paper make the following patterns using shapes, colors, or pictures: AB AABB ABC 3. Draw the people in your family from largest to smallest.

2. Draw a picture of your bedroom. Include furniture and even things on the wall.

3. Read a story with an adult. Work on retelling the story: tell the characters and the setting. Then tell what happened at the beginning, the middle, and the end. 4. Draw or write about three sets of pictures that rhyme. Example: You could draw a cat and a bat. Example: You could write bedred.

3. Look through baby pictures of yourself to see how much you have grown.

4. Roll a pair of dice 5 times. Each time write the addition problem and the answer. Example: You roll a 2 and a 4. 2+4=6

4. Draw a picture of an animal that will be hibernating when it snows. Write the name of the animal.

4. Draw a picture of one of the American symbols. Write one sentence about it.

Any activity that requires paper can be done on paper of your choice. Each day a Blizzard Bag needs to be completed, please list the activity numbers with the appropriate subject. Return the Blizzard Bag checklist paper to school, along with work completed on paper.
