A Bedouin Adventure Samuel Zeng Bang! Bang! Bang! The smell of gunpowder is thick in the air.

Wazil yells something in Arabic and holds up his prize. An unlucky flock of golden orioles had flown by our campsite. Nearly all members of the flock had suffered the consequences. These miniature birds would be plucked and fried by sundown. Surprisingly, the orioles taste is similar to a chickens. I had spent the last six months in Egypt working for the Peace Corps. I thought they had been treating me well until I found out they were sending me to the Western desert. My mission was to aid the Bedouin people. Little did I know I was going to spend two years there. Over that time period, I learned the Bedouin lifestyle, but most importantly witnessed a revolution.
