Changingyourspeakingskillsisapathofgrowththatwillleadtotransformationalshiftsinyour personality,ifyouallowitto.Itismyfirmbeliefthatyoucanworktochangeanythingthatyou dontlikeaboutyourspeakingstyleandcommunicationskills.Asyoumasternewspeakingand communicationskills,youmoveclosertoyourrealself.Everytimeyouovercomeafearorblock thathasbeenlimitingyou,eithersocially,oronethathasbeenstoppingyoufromactingonyour desires,yougrowintoamoreconfidentandfulfilledperson. Themoreblocksyoufaceandbreakdown,thestrongeryoubecome.Youbegintorealiseyour unlimitedpotential.Youtakecontrolofyourreality,becomingacreatorofwhatyouwantto achieveinlifeonalllevels:professionally,emotionally,andspiritually. Graduallytransformingintothespeaker youwanttobeisatwostepprocessthat yourepeatmanytimesover.Inmyopinion, itisaprocessthatneverendsbecause therewillalwaysbesomeaspectofyour communicationorspeakingthatcanbe improved.Firstofallyouneedtoidentify onethingthatiscurrentlylimitingyouor holdingyoubackintermsof communication.Eitheryouneedtolearn somethingtofillthegapinyourknowledge, oryouneedtofaceafear.Bypurposefully confrontingyourfearsandpushing yourselftodowhatscaresyou,gradually yourfearsandsocialanxietieslosetheir poweroveryou.Youstartsmall,andkeep pushingawayatyourfearsonebyone. IhaveavividmemoryofbeingaroundfifteenyearsoldandaskingarelativeifIwouldalwaysfeel awkwardaroundpeoplemywholelife.Iwantedtoknowifmyfeelingofbeingdifferentandnot fittinginwouldgoawaywithtime.IwantedtoknowifIcouldchangeintoafriendlypersonthat otherpeopleliked.MyrelativetoldmethatthefeelingofawkwardnessIhadwouldnevergo away.HesaidIhadtolearntoacceptit. Theideaoflivingwithmyawkward,unsocialselfforeverfeltunbearablyawful.Ididntwantto staythesame.Theideaofthisdepressedme,Icouldhavegivenuphope,butsomehowmy relativesopinionjustdidntfeelrighttome.Ifelttheremustbeawaytochange.Ibeganto experiment,seekingtochangemyself. Ididthisbytestingthelimitsofmyawkwardness.IthrewmyselfintosituationswhereIfelt awkwardorshy(nearlyeverysocialsituationatthistimeofmylife).Overtime,situationsIonce feltawkwardinlosttheirpoweroverme.AsIfacedmyfears,Icouldfeelmyselfbecoming strongerandmoreindependent.Ifeltthesechangedeeplyatthelevelofmypersonality.
