Dear Friends and Family, As I draw near to the end of my first month on my internship here at Christs Church of the Valley (referred to as CCV) its great to look back. Ive had some great experiences so far and Im looking forward to the times ahead. right? Just kidding, it will be a great experience!

Next Month
From September 21st 24th, we will be going to California for a study trip. We will visit a number of thriving churches The Interns in the to meet with their Leadership Institute pastors and study their ministry models. This will give us insights and principles that we can apply to wherever God calls us to serve in the future. Looking forward to it.

The First Two Weeks . . .

The first two weeks here were spent in orientation. All of us in the Leadership Institute got to hear about and participate in the major departments and ministries of the church. I vacuumed the sanctuary with the Housekeeping crew, I heard from the Missions department about the missionaries around the world whom CCV helps support, and I helped serve communion with the weekend volunteer team. Within a Week! Just last week, I joined the pastor and another intern as they met with a member of the congregation. Her grandson, Aaron, recently came to know Christ and Aaron Just After His wanted to be baptized. Baptism So, Aaron, the other intern and I went out for ice cream. We talked about baptism, faith, and how he could serve at the church. This past Sunday he began serving and that afternoon I got the chance to baptize him. Did I mention all of this happened within a week?!

A Quick Note on Finances :

Last time I wrote, I let you know I was fully funded. Since then my school informed me I wont be able to use financial aid ($3,500) to help cover the cost of the internship like we planned for. Im not worried as I know the Lord will provide; but, I wanted to let you know so you could be praying. Right Now
Right now, Im training with Ashley Short. She oversees the volunteers who serve as parking lot attendants, greeters, ushers, and communion preparers. Why am I training with her? For the first two weekends of September I will fill in for her position and lead these volunteers. No pressure,

Thanksgiving for the fruitful work that God has given me. Wisdom as I lead the weekend volunteers.

Patience as I learn & grow during my internship. Aaron as he moves forward in his faith. Finances to help pay for the remaining cost of the internship.
