If articles are referenced/summarized they must be turned in along with the assignment.
1. Write a paper describing your current health status. Be specific as to any particular medical problems-explain their possible causes, describe current limitations they pose, suggested treatment, and future prognosis. 2. Describe the differences between aerobic and anaerobic exercise programs. State the specific benefits of an aerobic exercise program and give the guidelines for an effective aerobic exercise. 3. Describe how your culture, family, friends, schedule, etc., influence your eating habits. Point out the good points and the bad. What changes should you make in your eating habits? 4. Read three current articles on nutrition and prepare a written summary of the main points of each article. This summary may be a narrative written in paragraph form, a series of isolated sentences covering main points and major supporting evidence, or a topic or sentence outline. 5. Analyze your daily lifestyle and comment on changes you could implement to remove or reduce stress. 6. Critique three articles on a given subject. 7. Report on any diet plan-give disadvantages and harmful effects. 8. What is your favorite sport? Describe your favorite sport and explain how the game is played. Make sure you use AT LEAST three specific details about your sport. 9. Define physical fitness. What do you think it means to be physically fit? Name three ways a person can maintain their physical fitness level. 10. What do you think it means to be part of a team? Give three different points.

11. Develop an activity appropriate for class. Write the directions for the activity/game. 12. Define competition in a personal way 13. Youre the team captain. Your team members dont get along. How do you get them to work together as a team? 14. Several people in your P.E. class are really uncoordinated and no one wants to include them in the activities. What can you do to make this a positive experience for everyone? 15. Write a lifetime plan for staying physically fit. Your plan should be one that you can/will actually follow. 16. Things I never thought I could do (before this class) and now I can. How did you accomplish this? (ex. Shoot a foul shot, run a mile, etc.) 17. Explain why you do or do not perform your best in competitive situations. 18. Define physical education. What is it? What should it be? Bring personal experiences into your definition. 19. Develop a pre-season training program for a sport of your choice. Keep in mind different positions may require different types of training within the same sport. You must include information covering the following areas: Nutrition, Strength Training, Major lifts, Auxiliaries, Agility/speed/quickness training, Cardiovascular training, flexibility development, skill development 20. How can training improve your performance in your sport or your fitness? 21. Design a sports specific workout for your sport. 22. Explain concussions and the short-term and long-term effects.
