intolerance, there have been refugees.

Refugees resettled in the U.S. are not a a burden on the U.S. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience.

S If you had 15 minutes to pack and evacuate your home, what would

you take? Most refugees are forced to leave Abruptly and have little opportunity To take things with them. They are Uprooted and have to start again From scratch (UNCHR,2012).

Who are the refugees?

A refugee is a person who "owing to a fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political beliefs, membership of a particular social group is unable to find protection in the country of residence. Article 1, The 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees

Most refugees want to return to their countries of origin where they speak the language and have land, homes, families, and friends.

Goals Increase community outreach.

Connect refugees with businesses and jobs.

Establish refugee medical services. Collaborate with churches and schools for ride share, food share, and adult education programs.

Increase the number of volunteers who will teach, tutor English, other subjects, and develop a language bank.
