es"r#$%#on: This course is designed to develop and promote student reasoning and problem solving involving geometric concepts and properties. Topics of study will include deductive reasoning using points, lines, and planes; segments, angles and triangles; quadrilaterals; polygons; and three-dimensional figures. Assessmen%: Muarter grades will be assessed by notes"in-class assignments, master checEs, chapter tests, and pro@ects. The following breaEs down these assessments with their respective weights! No%es and In/",ass Ass#+nmen%s 2/&N< 4tudents will be assigned a video lesson to watch and taEe notes on outside the class meeting time. The ne0t class, these notes will be used by the student to complete assigned application problems to worE out 2usually in groups<. The notes and assigned problems will be collected before the class taEes the master checE. Mas%er "'e"0s 2;&N< TaEen each class after in-class assignment time. $aster checEs will either be five problems each. -roblems are either correct"incorrect, partial credit will not be given. C'a$%er %es%s 2;&N< TaEen after the last unit of each chapter. *ach test will be worth :& G /&& points. -artial credit will be given for problems on the chapter test. 1uar%er $ro2e"% 2/&N< 4tudents must complete a pro@ect that relates to a topic studied for that quarter. Remedial worE may involve redoing notes, worEing additional problems, or completing Bhan Academy"5rain )enie modules. $aster checEs for a given chapter must be retaEen by the date of the chapter test. #hapter tests must be retaEen within five school days after the test is originally taEen. La%e )or0 *o,#"-: ate worE will be accepted up to five school days after the due date of the assignment; points will be deducted for lateness. Absen"e: 3f a student is absent 2e0cused"une0cused< it is the studentJs responsibility to follow the pacing guide by watching the lesson videos, taEing notes, and worEing the assigned problems. 4tudents should use e0tended absences to catch up, stay on pace, or even worE ahead. +nce a student returns to school, the student will then taEe the master checEs and chapter tests. Academic dishonestyOincluding plagiarism, cheating or copying the worE of another, using technology for illicit purposes, or any unauthori1ed communication between students for the purpose of gaining advantage during an e0aminationOis strictly prohibited.
