Dear Human Resources,

Teachers must be innovative and demonstrate progressive thought that encourages imagination. Creativity and a true teacher presence are important aspects of my teaching philosophy, which is why I am applying to this district. Human beings, by their very nature are inquisitive. It is our responsibility as teachers to encourage this in our students by facilitating positive and safe learning environments in which students feel confident about taking risks. In order to create these environments teachers must be truly present in the classroom, understand the value of creativity, and demonstrate excellent listening skills. Within my most recent practicum experience I developed a great rapport with the students, and was always ready to work with the students who required extra support and time, which created a positive and safe learning environment. Guiding students through multiple perspectives in specific topic areas directed them to evolve their own worldviews, while developing an understanding of the diversity that exists in our society.
