Abortion = Murder
The question of whether abortion should be legal or illegal is something that many people debate. The question shouldnt be whether it should be legal or not, this is not the right question; the question people should be asking is, is it right. According to Jim Fetzer writer of the article Why Abortion is Right for America states that an unborn fetus is not a human life that should be treated like a human. He claims that those who believe life begins at conception are therefore correct about their biology, but wrong about morality. He says that personhood requires recognition. He also says that if this were true people who are pregnant should be charged for two persons. (Fetzer, 2013) This of course is completely wrong; according to researchers from Durham and Lancaster unborn have the ability, in just 36 weeks, to show expression of pain. They also say that in 24 weeks a fetus is able to curve their mouth into a smile. The very action of smiling is an emotion that takes complete recognition. They also say that an unborn child sucks its thumb. How can someone say that unborn children dont have recognition if they can smile and do other things that only living creatures can do? (Duram, 2013) Jim Fetzer also states that the reason abortion is not murder is because its legal and that if it were illegal then it would be considered murder (Fetzer, 2013). The definition of murder is the act of unlawfully killing another human being. Fetzer is right in the legal sense

but, making it legal doesnt make it right. If I was driving and I crashed into a pregnant mother killing the unborn child would it be considered murder? I believe that it is, because that mother had every intention to have that child and raise it into a child that would be considered a human being. In the year 2012 a drunk driver ran a stop sign and hit a woman who was pregnant at the time. The mom was sent to a nearby hospital where she lost her unborn baby. The man driving this car was charged for the murder of an unborn child. He was sentenced to a life in prison or 200,000 dollars bail for murder and 20,000 for DUI at the age of thirty. This happened in the state of Texas a state where abortion is currently legal. In the year 2008 there was another incident where a pregnant women was beaten and robbed by three other women. As a result she later lost her unborn child. The three women that committed the crime were sentence to life in prison without bail. This happened in the state of Chicago where abortion is legal. Is murder only murder if people want it to be murder, or is murder, murder. If these people can be charged with murder for killing unborn children so can the rest of the people in the world. Some people might argue that these two women who lost their babies wanted to have their children; however whether or not they want to have the child it is still a living baby. In this article it says the justice court fought for the justice of the women AND THE CHILDREN. Why on earth would they need to bring justice to the unborn children? The reason is because the unborn are just as important as the living. When a mom gets an abortion its worse than treating her unborn child like they are already dead. When somebody is killed in real life and

people talk about it they usually use the words, This persons life was taken by this person. In other words they were killed by this person. When a child is killed by abortion their life is being taken away from them. The person who performed the abortion services should also be known as the person who killed thas person.

People choose abortion sometimes because raising a child is too expensive. According to Abortion.com the second biggest reason people use abortion as an option is because they cant afford it (Willke, 2013). People believe that if they dont have the money now then they will never have it. That is just like saying I cant afford to take care of my elderly parents so I going to take them to the hospital and the doctors will kill them for me. According to Suzanna de Baca taking care of your elderly parents will cost around 300 or more dollars a month out of your own pocket. You may also have to make modifications to your home to be wheelchair compatible (de Baca, 2012). Just because you think you cant get money it doesnt mean you have to give up your child. We believe that abortion is wrong most of the time. When we say that we mean under extreme conditions. Not being financially prepared is not an extreme condition. Raising a child is not easy it requires that you give a hundred percent effort. If a women is going to have a child and having that child is going to take her life if something isnt done; she should look at her options.

If her only option was to get an abortion I believe that the act of abortion should be taken. If the woman has just unintentionally become pregnant and wants an abortion that is wrong. If she did not want to have a child she and the father of the child should not have put themselves in a situation in which becoming pregnant is a chance. I love the quote from Ronald Reagan I have noticed everyone who is for abortion has already been born. When someone takes the option of abortion they are not only ending the life of an unborn child they instantly stealing that childs future from them. Abortion is just as bad as killing babies. Whats the difference between a baby in the womb and a baby that has been born? The single difference is that the baby that has been born is conscious. The baby that is in the womb is unconscious but, it is still being nurtured and cared for by the mother carrying the baby. It has a heartbeat for most of the pregnancy. It feels pain. A fetus will actually show emotions. Whether or not the baby was intended does not matter. If its there its there. The only reason a mother would want an abortion is if they didnt love the child living in their womb. There are times when the mom may think she cant afford to have another child. The truth is you can always make it work. Weve read stories of mothers having fifteen kids and making less than thirty thousand a year. All she does for a living is daycare. Yes some of her kids do not live in the house but there are still eleven that do live in the house. Having another child, in almost every case, is affordable.

Studies have shown that mothers that have had an abortion are more likely to develop breast cancer. According to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center women that have had an abortion are 50 percent more likely to develop breast cancer than the average women. Also according to this web site 27 out of 38 studies have shown that abortion is linked to breast cancer. People say that laws that were recently passed restrict womens rights to control their own health. People compare babies and abortions being like cancer and surgically getting cancer removed. ("The right to," 2011) They compare a women getting an abortion to someone wanting to get rid of a disease. A baby is no disease. An unborn baby has the right to live. We all have the right to live. "They're saying out loud what many anti-choice activists believe but don't say upfront-they want to ban abortion in all circumstances," (Pesta, 2012). We think most people are against abortion but, many are afraid to really say anything. They just go with the flow. Antiabortion groups seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Making abortion illegal seems more reachable than ever. Mason's efforts have kicked up a storm of opposition among women'srights activists, who claim such laws would ban birth control as well as in vitro fertilization and stem-cell research, both of which can result in the destruction of embryos. Keith Mason, an anti-abortion leader and father of four, says, (I do not) oppose contraceptives (but rather) methods that kill a living baby. Mason says, "I know of cases where a woman that is addicted

to crack will have her baby and the state will take the crack baby away because of child abuse and mandate the woman receive treatment--I'm good with that." (Pesta, 2012). Even a women on crack should not have the right to abortion. The mother shouldnt keep custody of the child but, the fetus has a right to life once fertilization takes place. Of course miscarriages happen, just like accidental deaths but, just like accidental deaths miscarriages should be investigated to some extent. When abortion rights are restricted, gruesome, black markets arise (Adalja, 2013). Should we legalize heroine because black markets arise for heroine when its illegal? Should we legalize murder because hit men get paid when murder is illegal? Should we legalize terrorism because terrorist attack when terrorism is illegal? All these questions are incredibly ridiculous. If all these laws were passed theres no point in government. Just because a law gives rise to illegal activity that doesnt mean we should legalize everything. Laws will always give rise to illegal activity because, if everythings legal no illegal activities could take effect. Whether we have abortion be legal or illegal unborn children will be killed. People will still abort their babies just, like making drugs illegal or legal people will still do drugs like heroine. Abortion shouldnt be a debated topic. The answer is simple and clear if you look at it from a moral standpoint. Once fertilization takes place inside the womb, the baby is a living being. Life is starting to grow. New life is taking shape. Eliminating the new life is murdering the new life. We firmly disagree with any form of abortion in every case whether the child wasnt

the plan of the parents or the parents cant afford the child, murder is wrong no matter what you call it.
