EDNOS

EDNOS stands for Eating

Disorders not otherwise specified. swallowing food is an example of EDNOS

Chewing and spitting but not

All conditions are present to

qualify for anorexia nervosa except the individual's current weight is in the normal range or above.

O V E R E AT I N G

People who are diagnosed with

over eating are labeled "addicted" to food.


People usually are aware that their

eating habits are abnormal, but find little comfort because of society's tendency to stereotype the "overweight" individuals.
Over eaters are at risk for a heart

attack, high blood-pressure and cholesterol, kidney disease and/or failure, arthritis and bone deterioration, and stroke.

N I G H T E AT I N G SYNDROME(NES)
Usually eats no breakfast or

usually anything up to several hours after they have been awake. shame, tense, and anxious. time falling asleep or staying asleep. They eventually wake up and eat again.

This eating produces guilt,

ORTHOREXIA

Fixation on righteous eating. Their self-esteem becomes

wrapped up with they're diets.


Eventually food choices

become so restrictive, in both variety and calories, that health suffers an ironic twist for a person so completely dedicated to healthy eating.

OVER EXERCISING
Cutting school, missing work or

even interrupting sleep can become a routine.


Burning calories, achieving a

certain body type, meeting athletic goals or giving themselves permission to eat can be reasons for over exercising.
Over exercising leads to higher

anxiety and guilt over their actions as calories continue to be counted and health concerns continue to rise.

BINGE

When a person eats large

amounts in a shorter period of time.


The person usually feels

less self control during this.


Binging is usually done in

secret.

BULIMIA NERVOSA
A person who is normally

on a binge put tries to prevent weight gain by throwing up or abusing laxatives.

When these people force

themselves to throw up, tooth decay occurs. suffer from Anorexia.

Whoever has this may also

ANOREXIA NERVOSA
This eating disorder makes

people loose more weight than what is considered healthy for their height and age. have a fear of gaining weight even if they are under weight.

ANOREXIA AT H L E T I C A
Anorexia athletica is developed from

Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. really recognized formally by the standard mental health diagnostic manuals, the term Anorexia Athletica is usually used in mental health because of overly exercising or compulsively exercising. people who participate in sports where a small, lean body is considered the only way to play.
