Lianto 1

I am David (Prequel) A soft babys cry was resonated around the humble home that belonged to the Hjort Fengels. A lady in her mid-twenties came rushing down the hall with her hair tied in a messy bun with a button-down shirt and knee length pants to where the babys cradle was and quickly gathered him in her arms. Hush hush mommas here. Im here, David. Hush now she cooed as she slowly swayed her body to the left and right slowly bringing the baby to sleep. Slowly as Edith was putting him to sleep, David fell into deep slumber. Relieved that David is now asleep, Edith gently puts him back in his cradle before placing a tender kiss in the forehead. After putting David back in his cradle, she sat on a couch not far from her sons cradle. Lost in deep thoughts she stared off into space. Shes thinking of the things that need to be done; clothes to be washed, dried and ironed, foods to be bought, and the house that needs cleaning. Still lost in deep thought, she doesnt realize that her husband, Joshua, was staring at her lovingly. He notices that shes lost in deep thoughts so he taps her shoulder gently. Edith dear, Im here, says Joshua. Snapping out from her trance, she looks to where her husband is. Smiling at him, she stands up and slowly walks to him and gathers him in her arms. Hello, Joshua. I didnt see you there. How was your day by the way? she coos softly.

Lianto 2 Looking at her with those gentle and loving eyes he answered, It was fine. Joshua is an accountant working for the National Swedish Bank. His incomes are more than enough thats why they dont live a financially struggling life. As Joshua and Edith stare at each other, Edith fails to notice that Joshua is actually hiding something from her. Hes hiding something that might shock and scare her and there might be a possibility that the thing hes hiding can chase them away from their humble home. As the sun sets, they quietly ate their dinner with baby David being carried by Joshua. It was a quiet dinner, yet they treasured the moment. They were eating backed potato with butter-fried chicken, Joshuas favorite. After eating dinner, Joshua decides to tell Edith. Edith, you can put David in his cradle now. I need to talk to you about something. Something important, Joshua says sternly yet calmly. Putting David back in his cradle, Joshua places a tender kiss on Davids forehead. Intertwining their hands together, he brings Edith to the couch not too far away from their sons cradle. Edith can feel his uneasiness and she quickly asks him, Are you alright? Whats wrong? What happened? Joshua. Tell me, she rapidly answers as a thousand questions stacked up on her mind not knowing what was really going on. Edith. Weve been found, Joshua utters. As realization hit her, her eyes went wide. Her body shook frantically. She knew that this day would come; but not that soon. Theres one secret about them that no one knows except their good friend, Sophia Bang. Theyre actually Jewish,

escaped from Germany years ago with their identities unknown. Mysterious to everyone, they were actually being hunted down by the Nazis when they were escaping. How could this happen?
