Heres what going on in 3rd grade this week . This week we will read, The Cat Who Became a Poet. In this Fantasy, students will learn the purpose of Poetry and being a Poet. As the cat says in the story, Perhaps all this poetry stuff is just the worlds way of talking about itself. Ask your child to tell you all about it. In Math we will.. Measure with cups, tablespoons, and teaspoons Read a Recipe Write part of a Set as a Fraction Subtract a Multiple of 10 from a Number Using Mental Computation Estimate the differences of Two Two-Digit Numbers Square Numbers Identify Perfect Squares Find the Area of a Square Simplify Expressions with Exponents of 2 Show Three- and Four Digit Numbers Using Base Ten Blocks Write Three and Four-Digit Numbers for a Model or a Picture In Science we will continue to explore Matter In Social Studies we will explore the life of Martin Luther King Jr. In Religion we will have a test on Chapter 9 and begin chapter 10 where we will learn how Jesus taught his followers to pray and explore different types of prayer.
