IT’S 1971..
Alexandria, Virginia, a community where African-
American students attend a school and American
students attend a different school.
Times are about to change..

SCHOOL
The local high schools have just been
ordered to integrate into one.
• Coach Bill Yoast, longtime head
coach of the T.C. Williams High
School football team, is asked to
step down, and Herman Boone is
appointed to replace him as the
HERMAN school's first African - American
BOONE
(Head Coach) faculty member.

Sometimes life is hard for no
reason at all..
Its difficult to adjust
with the social
change.

The people of the community wont


The new coach is not welcomed with
open arms..
and the newly integrated team
is full of players (both
African-American and American)
who have little
trust and respect for
one another.

But Boone is determined to


put a winning team on the field -- it's how he
approaches the game, and his future depends on
it..
During his first team meeting..
“This is no democracy. It is a dictatorship.
I am the law. If you survive camp, you will be
on the team.
If you survive.”

In short, be ruthlessly compassionate!


The leader should not
hesitate to take hard-
decisions on selecting
and retaining the
members of the team.

Unless pushed to limits, your team will


not perform at its best
Nothing is better for you than
your
biggest failure. .

If you have the talent, passion and


commitment, you can make underdogs win.

Knowing the strengths, weaknesses and strategies
of competitors (of the organization / team) is
essential to fully exploit the strengths of the
organization/team, to overcome its weaknesses
and formulate appropriate strategies to exploit the
