For the Music Video Groups –
The Slight Dilemma
• What you are creating doesn’t really exist.
• There are plenty of live recording music
DVDs but few hardcopy examples of a
single/album of music videos put in dvd
form.
• So there is no hard format as to how it
should look, we will aim for something of a
cross between a CD cover and a Live
Music DVD
Live Music DVD

Main
Difference?

Track list
instead of blurb
(could possible
have both)
All DVD Covers Should:

• Promote the Artists

Image
• Reflect the artistic style
of the music
video/album to create
advertising synergy.
• Inspire the target
audience to buy the
product.
DVD Cover Design:
• Usually has to include a lot of information, it is
easy to clutter it.
• Like a movie poster the design aims to draw you
away from the elements it HAS to have by law
(billings block, tech specs, DVD logo) and
towards the elements that encourage you to
buy it (blurb, images, tagline, features.
• Is does this through layout, colour, typography
and styling.
