Morality VS Legality

Is a moral act always legal or is a legal act always moral? Which is which? To answer that question, Ill reflect on the things that Ive learned so far. Its all about morality and legality. As one famous blogger has said, Ethics is the difference between morality and legality. Ethics is the difference between what I ought to do and what the law demands I must do. Legality is a set of standards or rules decided by humans. People decide what is or is not legal in a particular country or region. The application of the law is still a human matter so, for the purposes of this discussion, law is always something that humans determine. Morality, on the other hand, can be thought of as the rules by which the universe is governed. Morality is the state being in accordance with standards of right or good in conduct. Now it is very important that we maintain this distinction between morality and legality. Sometimes our laws are arranged so that what is immoral is also illegal. However there are many actions that are immoral but still legal and there are other actions that are by themselves perfectly moral but which have been made illegal because they have other undesirable implications. Morality can influence the law in the sense that it can provide the reason for making whole groups of immoral actions illegal. So, in conclusion, it all depends on what legality and morality means from person to person. A persons definition and distinction varies. That is what I reflected and learned from the lesson in Business, Ethics, and Business Ethics chapter. They all follow the same standard but varies in the usage of these standards.
