Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee Draft Action Minutes December 10, 2013

Meeting started at 6:00pm PRESENT: Zack Marks, At-Large; John Lowell, Senior & Disability Org; Thomas Rogers, D-10; Gary McCoy, D-8; Chris Coghlan, D-7; Howard Bloomberg, Walk Advocate; Becky Hogue, Senior & Disability Org; Sonja Kos, AT-Large; Alex Reese, D-5; Morgan Fitzgibbons, Bicycle; Jon Winston, SFUSD EXCUSED: Howard Strassner, Transit Advocate PSAC currently has 19 members. Agenda: PSAC approved the December 10, 203 minutes. Minutes: PSAC approved the November 12, 2013 minutes. Opening Remarks: A) SGT Mahoney (SFPD Update) is not present. B) John Lowell will forward minutes and documents from the December Pedestrian Safety Task Force Meeting. C) Thomas Rogers: Still having communications issues with the SFPD regarding ride-alongs. Public Comment: Madeleine, with Folks For Polk, encourages people to visit http://folksforpolk.org Jason Henderson: A) Thomas Rogers: How can we be more effective? Mr. Henderson suggests making use of our SFMTA staffer (Neil Patel), coordinate with other Citizen s Advisory Committees (CACs), help other advisory committees and boards citywide. Public Comment: Madeleine, thanks Professor Jason Henderson. SFMTA Update: Neil Patel, PSAC Liaison: A) WalkFirst outreach will close in January. B) Folsom Street Complete-Streets Pilot program from 11th-4th Streets (Bikeway, Continental Crosswalks, etc.) will wrapup by year-end 2013. C) 6th Street Corridor: Committee recently presented final concept image. Will remove lanes for sidewalk widening. Environmental reviews and approvals soon. D) Gary McCoy: How can PSAC access the new Crossroads Database information? SFMTA to follow-up on inquiry. Education Subcommittee: Robin Brasso not present (excused) to update PSAC. Items for future meetings: Zack Marks: Next Meeting PSAC will have a strategy session. Chris Coghlan: PSAC should address bicycle relationships and strategy. PSAC Annual Report: Members can submit info to Zack Marks to be considered for the 2013 Report. Adjournment: At 7:18pm. Next meeting on January 7, 2014 at 6pm in Room 408 followed by the next regular meeting on January 14, 2014 at 6pm in Room 400.
