After hearing Turfgrass research and Superintendents requests for a high quality, medium grade sand for light frequent dressing at the 1998 Canadian Golf Course Superintendents Conference and Trade Show in Calgary, SIL Industrial Minerals Inc., this past season, introduced our Medium Grade Topdressing SandDry & Bagged! When used as recommended by researchers, this new product reduces or helps eliminate many of the problems associated with traditional playing field or putting surface topdressing methods. Some of the features and advantages of our Dry Topdressing Sand are. Ease of application. Dry, Bagged Topdressing Sand can be applied with a manual rotary spreader or property calibrated drop spreader. This method of dressing uses less labour as one employee can apply the sand. For easy handling, Sil Dry, Bagged Topdressing Sand is packaged in 22.7 kg. (50 pound) multi-walled paper bags. Less interruption of player traffic, as Dry Topdressing Sand can be applied at a lighter rate, at anytime of the day. The wear and tear on reels and bedknives is minimal because Dry Topdressing Sand is applied at the lighter rate, brushed or watered in and works itself into the profile of the putting surface. Dragmatting is no longer necessary, thus eliminating the abrasive stress on the turf. No heat stress it can be applied anytime during the heat of the summer. Less stress on the turf, resulting in healthier turf - less opportunity for disease - lower fungicide requirements Helps prevent and eliminate thatch build up. Speeds up the greens.
