1. Answer the question! 2. Structure!

What is the question asking me to do? Before you start writing you MUST ask yourself this question.
Rewrite the question in your own words to make it clear what your task is.

 Argue either in support of or against the following statement : say if you agree or disagree with the statement.

Only YES or NO not a balanced assessment!

 It argues that a father can take care of children just as good as a mother therefore parenting duties should be evenly shared.

Make a list of points according to your opinion: Write a list of reasons why you agree
or why you disagree.

Structure Opinion Essay

ONE: Introduction - A general statement about the topic in your own words. - Give your opinion about the problem.

Its generally accepted that women have a more important role in raising children; however theres evidence to suggest that men can be equally good at parenting therefore they should share the responsibility.

 TWO: Main body - Here you provide your supporting points. - Your reasons for the opinion you gave in the introduction. - One point for one paragraph.

Reports argue that women during menstruation can be emotional, irrational and physically unable to tend to children. Men on the other hand dont suffer this biological problem thus making them a reliable substitute during such periods.

In addition, parenting from fathers is known to have a positive influence on children. Fathers can be better at teaching children to have courage, discipline and vision.

 THREE: Conclusion -Give your opinion about the problem and possible effects, again using the same topic words used in the question. - REPEAT (somewhat) what you have already said.

To conclude, tradition often says women care for children but if fathers dont share parenting, both father and child will miss out on an opportunity.
