___________________________________________________ A little clock in a jeweller’s window stopped
___________________________________________________ one morning at twenty minutes after eight.
___________________________________________________ It remained silent and inactive for half an hour.
___________________________________________________ School children, looking at the clock,
___________________________________________________ stopped to play; people hurrying to the train
__________________________________________________ began to walk more slowly;
___________________________________________________ professional men paused for a while
___________________________________________________
to chat with each other.
___________________________________________________
All were late…because one small clock stopped.
___________________________________________________
These people had never known
___________________________________________________
___________________________________________________ how much they depended
___________________________________________________ on that clock, until it led them astray.
___________________________________________________ Many are thus unconsciously depending upon
___________________________________________________ the influence of Christians.
___________________________________________________ You may think you have no influence;
___________________________________________________ but if you are a Christian,
___________________________________________________ you cannot go wrong in one little act
___________________________________________________ without a serious result…
___________________________________________________ that of leading others astray.
___________________________________________________ “None of us liveth unto himself.”
