Art Types and Themes

All art will fall into one of the three descriptions that will be referred to as Type. This category does not describe what the artwork is about.

Realistic: A photo-like representation

Abstract: Recognizable objects that have been distorted or simplified

Nonobjective: No recognizable objects at all.

Some art will have the following Themes. This category describes what the artwork is actually about. It is the subject matter. They are not all listed.

Still Life: a set up of inanimate objects. (not living)

Religious: Biblical or spiritual imagery

Landscape: A picture of mostly scenery and nature.

Portrait: A picture of a person usually posed.

Cityscape: A picture of mostly buildings and streets.

Seascape: A picture of mostly a large body of water.

Genre: People in scenes from everyday life.
