Habit #6- Synergize- I value other peoples strengths and learn from them.

Grade: 2nd Time: 20 minutes Lesson: Cooperation Materials: -The 7 Habits of Happy Kids- Sean Covey -Chubbos Pool by Betsy Lewin -Cooperation Quilt worksheet -Ballon(s)

Procedure: -Review the Habit#6 story from the 7 Habits book -Discuss what it means to synergize - Read Chubbos Pool by Betsy Lewin - Discuss the meaning of team work/cooperation - Give students the Cooperation Quilt worksheet- Read aloud each square which contains a sentence that is either an example of friends cooperating, or is not. Tell them to use red to color examples of cooperation, and but to color examples of not cooperating. -Balloon bounce- students get in a circle. They try to keep the balloon in the air and in the circle without moving their feet. Count how many times each teams balloon falls on the ground, or goes out of bounds, or someone moves their feet. The group with the least amount of mistakes wins. Point out how well students worked as a team/did not work as a team.
