Name: Jen Langer Site: Jens Little Ones LLC

Description of Activity: Balloon Party Painting (it is a party because we are all doing it together on the same paper)

Type of Activity: Creative Art Age group: 2-4 Number in group: 2-4

Opening Question/Invitation/Prop/Finger Play:

Concepts & Skills: Children will be able to name or indicate what color paint they would like to choose. Children will be able to describe what happens when colors overlap or mix.

Balloon Play. We have a b-day coming up. We really enjoy playing with balloons. This would be a large muscle activity.

Questions to ask: What color would you like? (can you show me what color youd like? to a non-verbal child) I will repeat the chosen color in Spanish. Did you see that? What happened when the two colors touched? What do you think will happen if we mix these colors? Procedure: Initially offering the balloons as a large muscle activity before circle time. We would have circle. Children would be able to hold their balloons as long as they are respectful of their neighbors. I would invite the children to walk like a penguin, holding the balloon between their knees to the table. We help each other with our paint shirts. Materials Needed: Butcher paper covering the table. Paint colors of choice. Balloons Music for balloon play. Camera
