Taylor Repetti Professor Susan Lago College Writing 1060-04 Happiness Draft Writing

Writing about happiness is not an easily accomplished feat. Happiness is such a translucent emotion that most people have a hard time realizing when they are happy at all. Writing this essay was extremely difficult because how general the topic is. What is happiness; is there any way to define it? Everyone has their own perspective on happiness, so gaining any sort of upper hand using sources would be nearly impossible. The essay is based off of a reading called In Pursuit of Happiness by Mark Kingwell. Because so many people have different perspectives on happiness but All offered definitions are waved aside according to Kingwell (Kingwell 413). Most people thin k that happiness is the American dream, with a successful job, big house and loving family; while others focus solely on money and power. Others even believe happiness can be studied and described with formulas and equations. It is impossible to determine what happiness is because people are set in their ways; they will only agree if you tell them what you want to hear. All and all, this essay was difficult to write because of the lack of a solid topic and definition. However, in its own way, it was not difficult. The writing was about a broad subject, but it was presented in a way that allows one to make their own inference on the topic. In other words, no answer provided is wrong, because all answers are neither right nor wrong. So my primary focus was to focus on my grammar and sentence structure.
